Round an image's corners to any radius

This rounded image generator clips an image's corners to a radius you set in pixels and exports the result as a PNG with transparent corners. Choose an image, set the corner radius, and download the finished PNG. A small radius softens a picture's edges; a large one can take a square image most of the way to a circle. All four corners are rounded by the same amount.

For avatars, cards and interface imagery

Rounded corners match how images appear in modern interfaces: profile pictures, app icons, cards, buttons and thumbnails. Baking the rounding into the PNG itself is useful where you cannot rely on CSS, such as documents, presentations, emails and marketplaces, where the file has to carry its own corners. The file arrives ready to drop into the layout as-is.

Good to know

The output is always PNG, because JPG cannot show transparent corners; the corner areas have to be stored as transparency for the rounding to be visible. That also means the file may be larger than a JPG of the same image, which is the price of the transparent format.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the output PNG instead of JPG?

Because the rounded shape is made by rendering the corners transparent, and JPG has no transparency channel. A JPG export would fill the corners with solid color and the rounding would vanish against matching backgrounds.

How do I make a circular image?

Start with a square image and set the corner radius to half its width: a 400 pixel square with a 200 pixel radius rounds fully into a circle. A rectangular image becomes a rounded rectangle instead.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed in your browser and never sent to the site's server. The corners are clipped on your device and the PNG downloads from your browser.
