Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions

This image resizer changes an image to the precise width and height in pixels that you enter, with an option to lock the aspect ratio so the picture does not stretch. Choose an image, type the dimensions your destination requires, and download the resized copy, ready for the slot it was made for. Both dimensions can be set independently when needed.

For slots with fixed dimensions

Exact sizing is what upload forms, content systems, marketplaces and ad placements demand: a specific width and height, not an approximation. Use the ratio lock when only one dimension is fixed and the other should follow proportionally; unlock it only when the destination truly requires both dimensions and slight stretching is acceptable for that use.

Good to know

Enlarging an image beyond its original size softens it, because the tool can only stretch the pixels it has; no new detail is created. Shrinking is safe for quality. Whenever a destination allows it, start from the largest original you have and resize down.

Frequently asked questions

What if I enter both dimensions without locking the ratio?

The image stretches or squashes to exactly those dimensions, which distorts it if the new shape differs from the original proportions. Locking the ratio and entering one dimension avoids distortion; the other is calculated to preserve the shape.

Can it resize to a platform's preset sizes?

It can reach any size you type, but it has no preset list. For ready-made platform sizes for posts, stories and thumbnails, the Social Media Image Resizer offers those directly; this tool is for exact custom dimensions.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed in your browser and never sent to the site's server. Resizing happens on your device and the result downloads from your browser, so photos are never copied to a server.
