Rotate an image by a chosen angle
This image rotator turns an image by a preset angle (90, 180 or 270 degrees, in either direction) or by a custom number of degrees you enter. Choose an image, pick the angle, and download the rotated copy. It handles the sideways phone photo and the slightly tilted scan in the same place. Custom angles are also entered in degrees.
Straighten, correct and turn
Quarter and half turns fix orientation: photos stored sideways, scans fed through a feeder the wrong way, or artwork exported in the wrong aspect. Small custom angles fix tilt, letting you level a horizon or a document edge by a few degrees instead of accepting a crooked picture or re-shooting it.
Good to know
Rotation re-encodes the image, and for angles that are not multiples of 90 degrees the canvas grows to fit the turned picture, leaving transparent corners where the rotated image does not cover the corners. Cropping after a small rotation is the usual way to remove those corners.
Frequently asked questions
Will rotating reduce my image quality?
The picture is re-encoded on save, so a small quality change is possible, and repeated rotations of the same file add up. For the cleanest result, always rotate from the original file rather than a rotated copy.
Why are there transparent corners after rotating?
A tilted rectangle does not fill its new canvas: the smallest box containing the rotated image has empty corners, left transparent. Crop to the area inside those corners with the Image Cropper if you need a clean rectangle.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Files are processed in your browser and never sent to the site's server. The rotation is computed on your device and the finished image downloads from your browser, keeping the original private.

Limitations
Rotation re-encodes the image; transparent corners appear where the rotated image does not cover the canvas. Files are processed in your browser and never sent to the site's server.
