What this text diff checker does

This text diff checker compares two texts line by line and shows which lines were added, removed or kept. Paste the original in the first box and the revised version in the second, then run it to see the differences laid out. It suits edited drafts, updated documents, lists and configuration text where changes need a quick review. The differences are marked line by line.

Reading the comparison

Lines that appear only in the revised text are shown as added, lines that vanished are shown as removed, and lines present in both are kept. Because the comparison works line by line, changing even one word marks the whole line as changed. Scan the added and removed lines in pairs.

Good to know

This is a simple line comparison, not a word-level or meaning-based diff. It will not highlight the single changed word inside a long line, and reordered lines show up as a removal plus an addition rather than a move. For wording checks inside one line, compare the two versions directly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare two texts?

Paste the original text in the first box and the revised text in the second box, then click Run to see added, removed and unchanged lines.

Why does a moved line show as removed and added?

The checker compares lines in order and has no move detection. A line that changed position appears as removed from its old place and added in its new one.

Are my texts uploaded for comparison?

No. The text diff checker runs in your browser, so both texts stay on your device and are not sent to a server or stored.

Limitations

This is a simple line comparison, not a word-level or semantic diff; reordered lines show as removed plus added.
